Deciding whether you need to get a prenup or not before you get married is never an easy decision. Likely one person feels more strongly about it than the other, which can lead to some major arguments if you aren’t careful.
While most people are either strongly for a prenup, or strongly against one, no matter what you decide to do, you should always make sure you work with a competent lawyer who can look out for your best interests.
There are so many things to think about when you start looking into prenups. You don’t have a crystal ball, so it’s virtually impossible to know what the future will look like for you and your soon-to-be spouse. Will you get divorced? Will you have kids? Will your spouse get remarried if you get divorced? Will you start a business that will become the next Facebook? Will you inherit a ton of money you didn’t know was coming to you? See, there are a million things to think about, that you probably have never thought about before.
In this podcast we cover some of the pros and cons to getting a prenup, because as with anything involving the law, it’s not all black or white. Marriage is supposed to be a fun time, so don’t let the conversation of prenup ruin the most awesome day that you will probably have ever (at least I hope it is for you).
